Rajasthan Governor Margaret Alva's meetings with President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were "planned courtesy calls" and she has not received any directive or phone call to quit office, a Raj Bhawan release said.

Governor Alva's tenure ends in August and she did not receive any phone call or any directive to quit office, the statement issued here yesterday said.

"Mrs Alva's visit to President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi were planned courtesy calls," it said.

The statement came in the wake of the Centre asking some of the Governors appointed by the previous UPA government to quit.
