Union minister and RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha said Friday that there is no environment for development of human resource in Bihar as it lacked quality education.

"Nothing can be done without the proper development of human resource especially in a state like Bihar. There is no environment for the development of human resource in Bihar as it lacked quality education.

"There is shortage of quality teachers at government schools, colleges and universities as a result of which quality education is being hampered in the state," Kushwaha told reporters here at his party office.

Kushwaha, the Minister of State for Human Resource Development, said that his party has launched several social programmes to create awareness among the masses for their participation in improving the education system.

"There are teachers in large numbers in the state who cannot provide quality education and hence such teachers should be transferred to some other state government departments," Kushwaha said while asking the state government to implement his party's demands for betterment of education sector, especially government institutions in the state.

"We have made certain demands to the state government for improving education system in the state. Apart from transferring the inefficient teachers, the government should recruit teachers through competitive examination which should be either held by Bihar Public Service Commission or similar body created solely for the purpose," he said.

"At present, there is no environment for teaching as neither children nor teachers come to school...It requires complete reforms to improve the lot in government schools for which the state government needs to pay heed to our demands," Kushwaha said.
