No information on Gopikrishna, say his kin

Family members of Gopikrishna, who is kidnapped in Libya allegedly by Islamic State (IS) terror group, today said they have no information about his whereabouts and have requested the Centre to take steps for his release.

Gopikrishna's brother Muralikrishna, who stays in Nacharam area here, said that they (family) have no information about his whereabouts.

Balram from Telangana is another Indian who has been kidnapped in Libya allegedly by the terror group.

"Balram's wife seems to have got a information that her husband and my brother Gopikrishna will be released, but we have not got any such information," Muralikrishna said.
 

He also requested the Centre to take necessary steps for safe release of both Balram and Gopikrishna.

"...There is no clarity (on their release). We request the Central government to take measures for their safe release. We are still awaiting information (in this regard)," Muralikrishna added.

Gopikrishna, an assistant professor at University of Sirte, is a native of Tekkali in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh.
