No let up in heat wave conditions in Punjab, Haryana

In Haryana, Hisar experienced sultry conditions with the temperature touching a high of 43 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal, while Bhiwani's maximum settled at 43.2 degrees Celsius.

Ambala and Narnaul also experienced a hot day at 41.4 degrees and 43.5 degrees Celsius respectively.

Amritsar in Punjab simmered at 42.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded similar maximums of 42 degrees and 42.3 degrees Celsius respectively.

Chandigarh was not spared from the hot spell either, with the mercury level settling at 41 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.

The MeT office here has forecast that the heat wave conditions would continue to prevail in most places in the region tomorrow as well.
