No order has been issued to freeze new appointments in government organisations and ministries, government said in Parliament today while insisting that it rather intends to create maximum jobs.
"No such order has been issued...The intention of the government, on the contrary, is to create as many jobs as possible," Home Minister Rajnath Singh said in Rajya Sabha.
He intervened when a question was asked on whether the new dispensation has ordered freezing of new appointments in the government organisations and ministeries for two years.

Earlier, Labour and Employment Ministry Bandaru Dattatreya said government has taken various steps to generate employment in the country like fast-tracking projects involving substantial investment and raising public expenditure.
"The 12th Five Year Plan projects five crore new work opportunities to be generated in non-farm sector and provide skill certification to equivalent numbers," Dattatreya said.
The National Manufacturing Council of the Government also targets to create 10 crore jobs by 2022.
He said estimates of workforce by major sectors show an increase in the overall level of employment with an increase in the industry and services sector.
"The unemployment levels marginaly increased from 0.95 crore during 2009-10 to 1.06 crore in 2011-12," he added.
