BJP today took exception to the Centre seeking feedback from political parties in Andhra Pradesh on the issue of division of Andhra Pradesh without coming out with a specific timeframe for introduction of Telangana Bill in Parliament or outlining how it planned to address the concerns of Seemandhra.
"There is no time commitment from the Central government as to when they will bring the Bill.
"Without Congress and the Central government making any commitment on the timeline and on the issues involved in the bifurcation process, asking for our feedback has no meaning," state BJP President G Kishan Reddy said in a letter to Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde.
Reiterating that the BJP is committed to creation of a separate state with 10 districts (of undivided Andhra Pradesh) and Hyderabad as its capital, he demanded that the Bill for formation of Telangana be introduced in the upcoming winter session of Parliament.
"At the same time, BJP demands the Government of India to address the concerns of the Seemandhra people in terms of water sharing, safety and security, employees and other issues during bifurcation," he said.
In the letter, BJP has urged the Centre to come with a comprehensive plan for all-round development of both Seemandhra and Telangana.
