The opposition party also termed as "hollow" the Akhilesh-led government's promise of fighting corruption.
"Although the state Cabinet decided to get the sale of sugar mills, during the BSP regime, probed by the Lokayukta, no order has yet reached his office till date," BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak told news-persons here.
Pathak also claimed that though it (the government) handed over the probe into the Noida farm house scam to the Lokayukta, necessary facilities were not made available for the probe.
"The party, which came to power promising stern action against the corrupt, appears to have forgotten its promise of constituting a commission and bringing economic offences wing of the state police under it," Pathak alleged.
On November 9, the state government had decided to conduct a probe by Lokayukta into alleged irregularities in the sale of sugarmills of UP State Sugar Corporation Limited (UPSSCL) during the Mayawati regime.
"Now Lokayukta will probe into sale of sugarmills in the state," Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had said after a meeting of the state Cabinet which took the decision.
