No proposal is under consideration of the Uttar Pradesh government for bio-metric attendance of primary teachers, Basic Education minister Anupma Jaiswal today said.

She was replying to Congress member Aditi Singh during the Question Hour of the state assembly.

"The Basic Education Department has sent a time table to all government primary schools to complete the course as per the academic calendar. It has been asked to fix accountability of teachers by inspection in schools," the minister said.

Jaiswal also said the government is providing free books to students of class I to VIII, including maths workbooks.
