No proposal prioritised for grant to Gandhi Ashram in

No proposal for development and beautification of Mahatma Gandhi Heritage Ashram at Sabarmati in Gujarat has been prioritised for grant of Central Financial Assistance (CFA) during the current financial year, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

Minister of State for Culture Shripad Yesso Naik said the Gujarat Government had prioritised project "Development of Gandhi Circuit: Porbandar-MG Vidalaya Rajkot-Sabarmati Ashram Ahmedabad" during the year 2010-11 for grant of CFA.

However, certain clarifications sought by the Ministry of Tourism in this regard were, not provided by the State Government, he told the House in a written reply.

"No proposal for Development and beautification of Mahatma Gandhi Heritage Ashram at Sabarmati in Gujarat has been prioritised for grant of CFA during the current financial year," he said.
 

The Minister was replying to a question on whether the Government has received detailed project report from the State Government of Gujarat/Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation seeking financial assistance for development and beautification of Mahatma Gandhi Heritage Ashram at Sabarmati.
