The Delhi High Court today said there was no public interest in a plea moved by 11 unsuccessful law aspirants seeking that Delhi University's LLB entrance test be held again as widespread cheating allegedly took place at some exam centres.
A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar, however, said there was only private interest in the matter as the candidates had taken the entrance exam.
The court directed that the petition be deregistered as a PIL and be listed before an appropriate bench on July 23.
The petition, filed through advocate Abhishek Kumar Choudhary, sought cancellation of the result declared on July 11 and fresh conduct of the the exam, alleging improper management of the test leading to widespread cheating at some centres.
If the entire exam cannot be held again, it said that a re-test be held at the centres where the alleged irregularities were reported from.
The plea also sought a CBI probe into alleged mismanagement and cheating.
The test was held in June this year.
