Press Trust of India Guwahati
Kamrup Metro District Electric Committee has asked the public sector Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) not to resort to power cuts randomly in the flooding capital city of Guwahati.

If an area is vulnerable, then power cuts might be carried out, District Electric Committee headed by Kamrup Metro deputy commissioner directed APDCL.

Following the death of three persons in the city recently due to flood induced electrocution, the Committee asked APDCL to erect fencing around power transformers in low lying areas.

The committee also suggested that APDCL prune and trim branches of trees touching electric wires, besides launching a campaign to make people aware in vulnerable areas.
