No respite for HP as MeT office predicts more rainfall, snow

The MeT office also predicted heavy snowfall at few places in the middle and higher reaches of Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti, Kangra, Kullu, Kinnaur and Shimla districts.

Heavy rainfall and thundershowers are expected to hit the lower hills of Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Solan, Mandi, Sirmaur and Kangra districts from the midnight of February 4 till February 6.

The mercury continued below freezing point in Keylong and Kalpa, which recorded minimum temperatures of -10.2 degrees and -5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Elsewhere, Manali recorded a low of -1.5 degrees followed by Bhuntar at 2.4 degrees, Sundernagar at 3.6 degrees, Solan at 4.0 degrees and Shimla at 4.7 degrees.

 

Una recorded the highest temperature in the region with a maximum of 23.0 degrees while Dharamsala and Solan recorded 20.4 degrees and 19.0 degrees, followed by Sundernagar at 18.9 degrees, Nahan at 18.7 degrees, Bhunter at 17.0 degree and Shimla at 13.9 degrees.
