No respite from heat in Punjab, Haryana

Chandigarh braved yet another hot day as it recorded maximum of 42.1 deg C up by three notches above normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 45.8 deg C, up by six notches while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum of 43.7 deg C and 44.1 deg C respectively.

In Haryana, Ambala and Hisar had a high of 43.2 deg C and 43.5 deg C while Narnaul recorded maximum of 41.5 deg C.

Rohtak saw mercury settling at 43.2 deg C, up by two notches above normal.

Met in its forecast said light rain or dust storm may occur at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in next 48 hours.
