There was no respite from blistering heat wave conditions in Rajasthan with Churu recording the highest day temperature of 44.2 degree Celsius in the state, about six notches above normal.
Dry weather conditions and virtually no monsoon rains have further increased the mercury levels by one to three notches at many places in the state, according to the Met department.
Ganganagar recorded a maximum temperature of 42.7 degree Celsius followed by Jaipur at 42.3 degree Celsius, highest in the month of July so far.
Pilani recorded the maximum temperature of 42 degree Celsius.
Elsewhere, the maximum temperatures varied between 37.4 and 41.6 degree Celsius in many cities including Ajmer, Kota, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Barmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner.
Monsoon which entered the state from Bikaner district last week was still weak over the state.
The Met department, however, predicted light to moderate rains in eastern Rajasthan in the next 24 hours.
