The Kerala government today said there is no restriction on sanction of funds for development projects despite the state facing a financial crunch.

Concluding the debate on the Kerala Appropriation (Vote on Account) Bill, 2016, Kerala Finance Minister T M Thomas Issac today told the assembly that said no restriction has been imposed in sanctioning funds for carrying out development schemes.

"There should be a clear understanding on the works to be taken up in each constituency. The MLAs should take initiative in preparing a master plan for the same," he said.

There would be financial difficulty when the arrears of Rs 6,000 crore to various sectors were paid urgently. There were some financial hurdles to move forward as desired by the government, he pointed out.

Later, the House passed the Kerala Appropriation Bill with 84 in favour and 42 against.
