Reacting to reports in the Telugu television news channels that Rao alias Nani quit the party on his encouragement, NTR Jr maintained that he never encouraged such things.

"I am a loyal worker of the TDP which my late grandfather NTR had established. Nani might have had his own reasons for leaving the party," the actor clarified at a press conference here this afternoon.

Nani met YSR Congress honorary president Y S Vijaya this morning and followed it up with a meeting with Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the Chanchalguda jail. The TDP immediately suspended him from the party.

NTR Jr also dismissed reports that he was staying away from the TDP affairs due to a rift between his family and that of Chandrababu Naidu.

"I have responsibility to the party. At the same time, films are my livelihood. I am busy with my film assignments and hence not able to take an active part in TDP affairs," NTR Jr, son of TDP MP Nandamuri Harikrishna, said.

He said that till his last breath he would continue to be with the TDP.

"I am just 28 years old and obviously I can't indulge in petty politics. I don't think I am that competent to play politics," the popular star maintained.
