There is no shortage of electricity in Haryana and the few breakdowns are due to falling of trees owing to wind storms, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) Managing Director Arun Kumar Verma has said.
For last three months, power utilities have been supplying electricity for 23 hours a day to industries and urban areas of the state, Verma said.

Referring to the power situation in Gurgaon, he said that the Aerial Bunched Cable (AB Cable) in the city will be replaced by underground cables in a phased manner.
Since Gurgaon figures in the list of smart cities announced by the government, its aesthetics also need to be maintained, he added.
Verma said that due to effect of ultra-violet rays and other climatic conditions, faults were caused frequently in these cables, the repairing of which requires a special type of bucket crane.
Ten such cranes will be provided in Gurgaon for repairing the faults in AB cables, he added.
Verma said HERC makes a provision of about Rs 250-300 crore for operation and maintenance every year.
Replying to a question, he said that during last one year, the power distribution system in Gurgaon has strengthened.
An additional transmission capacity of 200 MVA has been added by installing 550 new transformers.
Similarly, out of a total of 736 feeders of electricity, 124 have been bifurcated which has improved the power supply.
He said that Gurgaon is a peculiar city where a load growth of 15-16 per cent has been recorded in a year which is perhaps maximum in the prominent big cities of the world where usually a annual load growth of 7-8 per cent is recorded.
Despite that, industrial and urban consumers in Gurgaon were supplied electricity for 23 hours a day.
