Press Trust of India New Delhi
Volvo Buses India today said none of its manufactured vehicles was involved in an accident in the national capital.

In a story filed by PTI yesterday, police sources had stated that a Volvo bus carrying 40 passengers to Ajmer Sharif Dargah overturned in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri area leaving 17 persons injured.

"The bus involved in the accident was a front-engined vehicle while Volvo manufactures and sells only rear-engined buses in India," the company said in a statement.

The bus involved in the accident, it said, did have 'Volvo' mentioned on it which was a case of brand infringement.

"As and when such cases come to our notice, we do work with bus owners to educate them on the consequences of such actions," it added.

Volvo manufactures and sells only air-conditioned, rear- engined buses in India.
