Nobel prize winner visits charitable hospital

Nobel prize winner for peace and former president of Central American country Costa Rica, Oscar Asias Sanchez today visited a charitable hospital in the Pink City, which is known for manufacturing famous Jaipur Foot.

Sanchez went round the assembly unit of Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti and also spoke to the patients and wanted to know how they feel wearing the prosthetics and what effect it had on their lives.

He said that when health care cost has become alarming all over the world, Jaipur Foot was making low cost artificial limb that costs Rs 2,500 only and disbursed free to the beneficiaries, a release issued here said.
 

The Jaipur foot has helped more than 1.40 lakh beneficiaries not only in India, but in 26 countries, it said.
