/ -- Famous personalities such as Dilnaz Irani and Ssumier S Pasricha (popular as Pammi Aunty) are supporting the campaign

It reiterates how the gig economy is becoming an enabler in achieving a healthy work-life balance

Leading HR talent marketplace, Noble House, has launched a campaign called 'I Support Gig ', celebrating the spirit and perseverance of freelancers.

Freelancing has traditionally been thought of as an arrangement lacking stability; riddled with issues related to networking, collecting dues, and even negotiating afresh for every new gig. These are real problems, and the purpose of the 'I Support Gig ' campaign is to provide a fresh perspective that better reflects the current scenario for gig workers by highlighting interesting stories of freelancers and their multiple side-gigs. It is gaining the support of many for the updated view it takes towards the gig economy.

The campaign is being supported by well-known personalities such as actors Dilnaz Irani and Ssumier S Pasricha (popularly known as Pammi Aunty); Chef Bali from Oberoi Hotels; bestselling author Neel Mullick; writer Annie Zaidi; Television Actor, Anchor, and Singer Karan Oberoi; event host Elixir Nahar, and writer and journalist Kamala Thiagarajan.

Mr Sanjay Lakhotia, Co-Founder, Noble House, said, "The need for a work-life balance was what fuelled the gig economy in India. At Noble House, we are celebrating this balance and people who have been able to achieve it, through our motto 'Good Work Good Life' and our campaign 'I Support Gig '. While the gig model has always been around, it will only grow further with tech disruptions and other factors. At Noble House, our aim is to match the professionals with organizations who need their expertise and in the process, ensure that good work is followed by a good life. This way the corporate helps resolve an otherwise challenging issue. The freelancers on the other hand, get a fair value for their skillset, on-time payments, and even access to tools and methodologies to stay on top of their game."

Currently live on Noble House's social media platforms, the campaign is trending with the hashtags #ISupportGig and #GoodWorkGoodLife. It underscores the advantages of freelancing for many, such as the availability of many more work opportunities. Companies also have a skill shortage of one type or the other and are looking for short-term experts to fill it up. This allows people to explore and hone new skills while still making money from their formal career training.

For instance, Druv Kent, an investment banker, quit his job to pursue music. "I wrote my first song when I was the MD at an investment banking firm," said Druv who has carved a niche for himself in the music industry today. Speaking about her dream, Bani Yadav, said, "Speed and driving are my passion and it gives me the freedom to express myself." Though she had to fight twice as hard in a field dominated by men, Bani has a flexible work life today as a corporate professional and a motorsport rallyist.

Noble House recently released a white paper called The Future of Work is Anywhere - Gig Workforce which breaks some myths and provides new insights around the way the gig economy is becoming a key constituent in the hunt for talent. The research highlights how the gig economy has the potential to create a world of work where 'Good Work, Good Life' is becomes possible.
