Noida bizmen hold hunger strike against power tariff hike

Protesting against proposed power tariff hike, industrialists today sat on a hunger strike at a discom office at Sector 16 here.

At least 26 industrialists, under the the banner of Noida Entrepreneur Association, sat on hunger strike at Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited Superintending Engineer Office.

Later, PVVNL Superintending Engineer Arvind Rajvedi assured them to send their demand of no hike in industrial power tariff to senior PVVNL officials at Lucknow and offered them juice to end their strike.

PVVNL has proposed to hike the power tariff by 10-35 per cent, however, UPERC is yet to approve the hike proposal of PVVNL.
