Noida gets first woman MLA

Vimla Batham of BJP today became the first woman MLA from Noida when she defeated SP candidate Kajal Sharma in a bypoll.

Batham scored 1,00,433 votes while Sharma got 41,481. Congress candidate Rajinder Awana finished third with 17,212 votes. 1,846 votes were cast in NOTA category.
