The Gautam Buddh Nagar police Monday said they have arrested the key person who was running an illegal factory in Ghaziabad that was busted in the last week of September.

Bobby Tomar alias Langda was absconding since September 26, when a police team from Noida Sector 24 had raided the Ghaziabad's Tronica City based factory.

Around 15,000 litre of illicit liquor worth an estimated Rs 50 lakh was seized from the factory in a record haul in recent times by the city police and four persons arrested in the action, according to officials.

The factory, which was running under the garb of a "juice manufacturing" unit, was being managed by Tomar, 38, they said.

"Since the raid, the police were tracking Tomar's movement. On a tip-off from informers, we got to know that he would be coming to City Centre. Police teams were mobilised and Tomar was arrested this morning," Sector 24 Station House Officer Pankaj Pant said.

Tomar was running the factory for gangster Amit alias Bhoora, who is presently lodged in the Patiala jail, according to the police.

He was also involved in managing other illegal businesses of Bhoora, the police said, adding his role in other nefarious activities was being ascertained.

Tomar has been remanded in judicial custody, SHO Pant said.

Developing on the information obtained from him, the police team had raided the "juice factory" inTronica City in the Sector 2 of Ghaziabad's Loni area to unearth the illegal liquor factory.
