Noida schools directed to set up rooftop solar panels

Schools in Noida have been asked to install rooftop solar power panels.

Gautam Buddha Nagar District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) P K Upadhyay said the move will will help schools in saving money on power bills and also reduce air pollution in the city.

"Several schools have set up rooftop solar plants while others are planning to install it. Billabong High International School has set up a 220 KW solar power plant," said Upadhyay.

Jasmine Gandhi, Director of the Billabong High International School said, "Our 220 KW solar power plant is likely the the largest capacity plant among NCR schools.
