With an indefinite agitation by farmers underway since over a month, Haryana government today said it is actively considering the principle of equity in deciding the quantum of compensation to be paid to the peasants for the land acquired for Kaithal-Titram bypass.
As the state assembly witnessed noisy scenes over the issue, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar assured that it would be resolved soon.
Khattar was speaking in response to a call-attention notice regarding acquisition of land for the Kaithal bypass on National Highway No. 65 on the second day of the Monsoon Session of the state assembly here.

"The state government is conscious of the expectations of the land owners in the state and would ensure that no injustice is done to them," he assured the House.
Khattar said barring the Kaithal-Titram bypass, there is no disagreement on the land acquired for other bypasses at Pehowa, Ismailabad and Kalayat.
The state government has full sympathy for the land owners of Kaithal-Titram who are demanding compensation at par with that of other three bypasses, the chief minister said.
The Calling Attention Motion on the issue was moved by Leader of the Opposition and senior INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala.
Chautala hit out at the BJP government in the state for allegedly discriminating while awarding compensation to farmers for road widening projects.
While farmers, whose land had been acquired Pehowa, Ismailabad and Kalayat bypasses, had been awarded compensation/solacium to the tune of Rs 46 lakh per acre, the Kaithal farmers, whose 412 acres of land had been acquired for the Kaithal bypass received compensation of about Rs 27 lakh per acre.
"The farmers of Gyong, Begpur, Kyodak, Ujhana, Nard, Pyonda and Titram have been protesting over less compensation," Chautala said in the House.
