Accusing Azam Khan of failing to chair any district planning committee meeting for the last eight months as incharge of riot-hit Muzaffarnagar district, BJP MP Sanjeev Baliyan has sought nomination of another minister for the post.

Union Minister of State For Agriculture Affairs Baliyan yesterday during a press conference demanded Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to change Azam Khan as incharge of riot-hit Muzaffarnagar district for failing to hold any meeting since last eight months.

Baliyan lamented that the development plan of Muzaffarnagar has not been passed yet as UP minister Azam Khan has not held the district planning committee meeting since past eight months.

He has not visited the district since 14 months, he said, adding another minister be made incharge.

When asked about the inquiry of Muzaffarnagar riots, Baliyan said that if the state government recommends a CBI probe in the same, the Centre will immediately initiate it.
