Nomination papers of 48 candidates rejected in Haryana

Nomination papers of 48 candidates have been rejected during scrutiny today, leaving 251 candidates in the fray for the 10 Lok Sabha constituencies in Haryana going to polls on April 10.

Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Walgad said the last date of withdrawal of candidature is March 26, after which the final list of contestants would be prepared.

Walgad said 1.55 crore voters, including 71 lakh women, are eligible to cast their votes at 16,129 polling stations, including 11,644 in rural areas, from 7 AM to 6 PM.

Of the 10 Lok Sabha seats, Congress has nine and Haryana Janhit Congress one - from Hisar.
