Denying the existence of a third front, senior TMC leader and West Bengal minister Madan Mitra today said a non-BJP and non-Congress prime minister will be selected only after the polls.

"There is no third front like alliance in this election. A non-BJP and non-Congress Prime Minister will be selected only after the polls," Mitra told reporters here.

"The political situation of Jharkhand has undergone a sea-change after the visit of TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. There is a wave in favour of the party now," the WB transport minister claimed.

"Trinamool has entered the political field of Jharkhand to wipe out extremism, illegal sand mining and political mayhem from the state," he said.

He claimed the party would win six seats out of the 10 it was contesting in Jharkhand. The state has 14 LS seats.

He appealed to the members of the Bengali and Tribal communities to vote for Trinamool candidates so that Jharkhand could be brought on development track," he said.

He claimed both BJP and Congress have lost faith of people and were now eyeing TMC as an alternative.

"Besides Lok Sabha election, my party is also preparing for Assembly election in Jharkhand," he said.

Mitra said his party would not allow Narendra Modi to become PM at any cost for the sake of communal harmony.

He said Congress had ceased to be the party of Gandhiji and BJP of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, founder of Jansangh.

"Both the parties are group of goons," he alleged.
