Non-edible oils gains on higher demand

Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial also advanced owing to increased demand from shippers and soap manufacturers.

Meanwhile, groundnut oil and refined palmolein held steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

In futures trade, castorseeds recovered smartly on speculative offtake amidst fresh export enquiries.

In the non-edible section, Linseed oil moved up by Rs 735 per 10 kg from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 730. Castorseed bold went up by Rs 5 per 100 kg to Rs 3,225 from Rs 3,220 and castoroil commercial inched up by Re 1 to Rs 675 per 10 kg.

Moving to futures, castorseeds for the September contract opened slightly higher at Rs 3,388 and surged further to conclude at Rs 3,423, as compared to Rs 3,383 previously, showing a gain of Rs 40 per tonne.

 

Turning to edible-segment, Groundnut oil and refined palmolein both closed unchanged at Rs 1,190 and Rs 614 per 10 kg, respectively.
