: Eight days after a car driver handed over to police Rs 2,000 cash he found on the road while on his way here from his native village Koovanipatti, police today said the money would be put in government account as none had come forward to claim it.
The man had handed over the money to police here on February 15 requesting them to hand it over to those coming in search of the amount.
Police said none came forward till this afternoon to collect. Superintendent of Police Ashwin Kotnis had taken steps to pay the money in Government's account, they said.
