The bandh called by Rabha Hasong Joint Coordination Committee (RHJCC) affected normal life in parts of Kamrup (Rural) and Goalpara districts but there was no report of any untoward incident, official sources said.

Bandh supporters blocked railway tracks at Nayapara area near Boko in Kamrup (Rural) but police came and forced the picketers to clear the tracks.

The bandh supporters also blocked road in Bamunigaon area of the district while in Goalpara the bandh evoked mixed response with shops, business establishments and educational inistitutions remaining closed and vehicles remaining off the road in Rabha-dominated areas.

Several organisations, including the All Rabha Students' Union (ARSU), under the aegis of RHJCC have resorted to widespread protests in the different places of both the districts during the last fortnight seeking complete withdrawal of panchayat election from villages within RHAC.
