Normal rail traffic at the Gorakhpur Junction, which was affected due to the re-modelling work being carried out here, was restored today.
Due to re-modelling of Gorakhpur Junction's yard, several trains had been either cancelled, short-terminated or diverted since September 25.
The train services resumed this morning on the route, General Manager NER K K Atal said.

After the re-modelling, platform number one of the junction will be the world's longest platform having a length of 1300 metres.
Earlier the platform of Kharagpur railway station with a length of 1074 metres was the world's longest platform.
The Limca book of records has been notified while the Guinness Book of Records is processing the request to enter it as a world record, GM KK Atal had told reporters yesterday.
