Maximum temperatures today hovered around normal levels at most places in Punjab and Haryana, a day after many places in the two states were lashed by rains.
Maximum temperature at Chandigarh was recorded at 33.6 degrees Celsius, the MeT office said here.
Amritsar in Punjab recorded a high of 33 deg C while Ludhiana's maximum settled at 34.6 deg C. Patiala recorded a high of 34.2 deg C.

According to a Haryana government spokesman, Gurgaon had yesterday received a heavy rainfall of 102 mm.
Kharkhoda in Sonipat district received 100 mm rainfall followed by 72 mm in Taoru in district Mewat, 69 mm in Faridabad and 68 mm in Ballabgarh in Faridabad district, he said.
Meanwhile, according to the MeT forecast, moderate to rather heavy rain or thunder showers could occur at many places in Haryana in the next 24 hours.
Moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Punjab.
