Two senior officials of the Indian Information Service (IIS) Frank Noronha and K Ganesan have been promoted as Principal Director General following a restructuring of the service cadre.
According to official sources Frank Noronha, who heads the Press Information Bureau (PIB) wing and K Ganesan, who heads the Department of Audio Visual Publicity (DAVP) have been promoted as Principal DG.
Another senior officer IIS Neelam Kapur is already a Principal DG.
There are now three Principal DG level officers in the IIS following the government decision, a top official said.
