North East Frontier Railways revenue increases Rs 98.41 cr

The gross earning of NF Railways during April 1, 2012 to October 31, 2012 was Rs 1,606.44 crore as against Rs 1,508.03 crore during the same period in the last financial year, registering an increase of 6.52 per cent, railway sources said.

The total passenger earnings have gone up to Rs 575.65 crore during the reported period, from Rs 509.60 crore during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 12.96 per cent.

During April-October 2012, 36 pairs of special trains (1140 trips) were run as compared to 33 pairs of special trains during same period of last year. In addition, 2215 additional coaches were attached to various regular trains.

 

The revenue earnings from goods earning registered an increase of Rs 30.37 crore over last year during the same period. Rs 1,102.16 lakh could be realised during the same period by checking unbooked luggage and detection of unauthorised travellers, sources added.
