North India receives rain

The capital received 0.3 mm of rain. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 32 degrees celsius and 28 degrees celsius respectively and the humidity was between 75-88 per cent.

Parts of Uttar Pradesh received moderate to rather heavy rain.

Rainfall was recorded at Sambhal, Rath, Garotha, Banda, Moradabad, Bilari, Hasanpur, Bidhuna, Moth, Jalalabad, Etawah, Chillaghatand and Hamirpur in the state.

The Met office predicted that rain or thundershowers might occur at many places over western UP and at a few places over eastern UP.

Heavy rain might occur at isolated places over western UP during the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, according to central water commission sources, major rivers Ganga and Yamuna were rising at various places and Sharda and Ghaghra have crossed the danger mark at Palia Kalan, Elgin Bridge, Ayodhya and Turtipar.

 

A report from Barabanki said that with the release of water from Girija and Banbasa barrage, Ghaghra was rising alarmingly.

Almost the entire Himachal Pradesh received rains with Dharamsala recording the highest downpour.

Hamirpur, Bhoranj, Gaggal, Jogindernaga, Ghamroor and Baldwara received rains since last night.

However, there was no appreciable change in maximum and minimum temperatures in the state.

The weatherman predicted rain and thundershowers over Himachal Pradesh for at least the next five days.
