The by-election to the Northern Angami-II Assembly in Nagaland on October 15 will witness a straight fight between the coalition partners of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN).

It will be a contest between Naga People's Front (NPF), the major constituent of DAN and BJP.

While NPF has set up Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu, son-in-law of former Chief Minister and sitting Lok Sabha member from the state Neiphiu Rio, BJP has fielded retired bureaucrat Visasolie Lhoungu.

Opposition Congress in the state has not put up any candidate.

The last date of withdrawal of candidature ended yesterday.

The Northern-II Assembly Constituency seat fell vacant on May 24 after three times Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio resigned on being elected to the Lok Sabha.
