Northern Army Commander Lt Gen D S Hooda today visited curfew-bound Rajouri district and appealed for peace in the region which had witnessed stone-pelting and arson yesterday after communal tension.
The Army Commander reviewed the security situation in Rajouri and interacted with the civil administration, Defence spokesman of Northern Command said.
He appealed to the people to maintain calm and contribute towards restoration of peace in the region, the spokesman said.
