Press Trust of India Dhaka
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said she is not afraid of any conspiracy to topple her government and dismissed her arch-rival Khaleda Zia's threat to launch a political movement against her after Eid holidays.

"I don't see any reason to be afraid of...Had I been afraid of such conspiracies I wouldn't have come to politics," Hasina said while responding to a question.

Citing a report on an alleged conspiracy hatched to topple her government, Hasina said it was the responsibility of the government to make sure such conspiracy cannot take place and affect the people, The Daily Star reported.

"It's our responsibility to look after this and we're performing our duty," the prime minister said adding that conspirators will craft their plots and the government will continue its works for taking the country forward.

In reply to another question about Zia's threat to launch a political movement after the Eid-ul Azha, the prime minister asked the Bangladesh Nationalist Party leader not to create any situation in the name of movement that might cause sufferings to people.

She said the BNP leader made a political mistake and she herself has to pay for that mistake, and reiterated that her government cares little about BNP's threat.
