Newly-appointed Madhya Pradesh state Congress chief Kamal Nath today refuted an allegation by BJP President Amit Shah, who without naming the senior Congress leader, had termed him a "favourite of the corporate houses".
Shah, while speaking at the BJP's "Pradesh Stariya Vistarit Baithak" (state-level extended meeting) here on May 4, had said that the Congress had made a "favourite of the corporate houses" its Madhya Pradesh state unit president.
Speaking to reporters today, Nath said, "Neither am I a director of a company, nor have I any connection with any business concern."
"I am not a shareholder. My life is open to all... The affidavit that I had given during elections and the returns I file speak for it," he clarified.
He claimed that his political career spanning four decades was without a blemish.
Nath hit out at the state BJP government and alleged that unemployment had skyrocketed due to lack of investments during the 14 years of BJP rule.
"Investment is an article of faith," Nath said, adding that the state government had failed to win the faith of investors.
