"I see that he (Antony) had made the remark with good intention and misinterpreting the remark is not correct," he told reporters here on the sidelines of a function.
He said as far as Antony was concerned ,'development' was an important subject for him. Antony wanted that development should come to the state at the earliest since the political climate is favourable as the Congress-led UPA is at the Centre, he said.
A number of defence sector projects was launched in Kerala after Antony became the Defence minister, Ramachandran said.
"It is an opportunity for the Kerala government to introspect. I consider it is an opportunity for correcting, if there are any lapses or mistakes," he said.
Replying to a query, Ramachandran said he had received support from the present Kerala government as well as from the previous LDF government led by CPI(M) veteran V S Achuthanandan for the projects he had brought to the state.
To another query whether the state government was moving at a slow pace, he said "we have a chief minister who does things faster".
