Press Trust of India New Delhi
Union minister Ram Shankar Katheria today dismissed reports that he was still drawing salary from an institute affiliated to Dr Bheem Rao Ambedkar University even after being inducted into the Cabinet.

"The reports are absolutely wrong. I intimated the institute's director after I became a minister that I would take salary from the ministry. The salary has, however, been credited to my account by mistake. I have not drawn it," the Minister of State for HRD told reporters here.

Media reports had alleged that Katheria had drawn salary for the month of November without even teaching for a single class at Agra's KM Institute.

Katheria had courted controversy soon after becoming a minister in the Narendra Modi-led government over charges of his graduation mark sheet being fake.

The minister strongly denied the charge against him terming it a political conspiracy.

Katheria is a Ph.D holder and a writer with books on social issues and Dalit uplift, among others.
