A notorious criminal, who was banished from the district by the East Singhbhum district police, and allegedly committed a murder in Sonari area under Sonari police station recently was arrested, police today said.
Acting on a tip-off that the criminal, Sumit Yadav alias Kallu had visited his home in Khuntadih area last night. A police team led by the Officer-in-charge of Sonari police station, Vinod Kumar Paswan conducted a raid and arrested Paswan, who had allegedly crushed a man to death in Sonari recently, said Superintendent of Police, Chandan Jha.
Jha said Yadav had to been jail four times in the past in connection other criminal offences.
Police has recovered a 3.15mm bore loaded pistol, two live cartridges and a motorcycle from his possession, Jha added.
