Noted Hindi writer Hridyesh Mehrotra passes away

Noted Hindi writer Hridyesh Mehrotra has died after a brief illness, family sources said today.

Mehrotra, who passed away at Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, was 86, and is survived by three sons and a daughter, including senior crime reporter Sunil Mehrotra who works in Mumbai.

He had penned 13 novels, including 'Safed Ghoda Kala Sawar', and 26 collections of short stories. He was recipient of Sahitya Bhushan and Pahal Sanman awards of the UP government.
