Noted Tamil writer Prabanjan dies in Puducherry

Renowned Tamil writer and winner of Sahithya Akademi award, Prabanjan died at a private hospital here Friday following brief illness.

He was 73 and is survived by three sons.

Prabanjan, hailing from Puducherry, is his pen name while his birth name was Vaithialingam.

He was a prolific writer and his book 'Vaanam Vasapadum' (sky is within our reach) was among the popular publications, for which he was conferred the Sahithya Akademi award in 1995.

Meanwhile, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy condoled the death of the writer.
