The Madras High Court today issued notice to Tamil Nadu government on a report in an English daily captioned 'looming problem for lawyers in mofussil courts.'
The article published yesterday pertains to reported non-existence of facilities in mofussil courts, including toilets.
The first bench, comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice R Mahadevan, took suo motu cognisance on the report and issued a notice to Government Pleader S T S Moorthy.
The Bench also directed that a status report be filed in six weeks after inspection and with photographs and the period of remedial measures to be taken.
