A 25-year-old man, wanted in several criminal cases in Odisha's Ganjam district, was arrested after he sustained injuries in an encounter with the police.
The accused, identified as Tarakeswara Moharana of Aska, sustained bullet injury in the left knee during an exchange of fire with the police near Burupda within Hinjili police station limits last night, the police said.
Two police personnel, including Inspector In-charge of Sheragada police station, Biswa Ranjan Nayak and constable Subala Pradhan, also sustained minor injuries during the operation.

A country-made mouser, three rounds of ammunition and two mobile phones were seized from Moharana, said Inspector In-charge of Hinjili police station, P K Sahoo.
The accused was first admitted to the community health centre at Hinjili and then sifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, the police said.
Sahoo said the accused was allegedly involved in a number of crimes including murder, attempt to murder, bombing, extortion and arms cases in areas within the limits of Sheragada, Hinjili and Rambha police stations.
