Notorious criminal carrying Rs 4 lakh reward arrested

A notorious criminal, carrying a Rs 4 lakh bounty on his head, today arrested by Haryana police here for his alleged involvement in several crimes including murder, official said.

Surender alias Sunda was arrested along with four of his gang members from Sultanpur village in Gurgaon following a tip-off that he was travelling from Jhajjar to Gurgaon with his gang members and they were carrying weapons with them , a police spokesman said here.

Following the tip-off, the police set up check-post at Sultanpur village where a car carrying five persons and bearing Delhi registration number arrived.

The occupants were unable to produce documents for the vehicle and during inspection weapons were recovered from the car, he said.
 

The weapons recovered included four country-made pistols, three country-made revolvers, 10 live cartridges and a shell, he said.

According to the spokesman said the other four were identified as Vipin alias Samrat, Amardeep alias Chinu, Sandeep alias Teenu and, Ravi Dutt alias Dillu, all from Jhajjar district.

He said a number of cases are registered against the prime accused Surender in various police stations in the state which also included some murder cases.
