: Activists of the Democratic Youth Federation of India today peformed a 'angapradhakshnam' (rolling round) on an arterial road near the Collectorate in protest against the government's 'failure' to repair roads damaged in the rains.
DYFI convenor Angappan, accompanied by its town secretary Saravanan and some other functionaries rolled for several metres on Kamaraj, one among the damaged thoroughfares.
Angappan alleged that no action had been taken to repair the roads despite repeated representations to the authorities concerned.
"We will intensify the agitation if there is still no response from the authorities to repair the roads' Angappan told reporters.
