The Rajasthan government will soon introduce a "biography" of the Hindu deity Parashuram in school libraries and include a chapter on him in textbooks.
State education minister Vasudev Devnani today said the chapter would be included in the school syllabus from next year.
The move by the BJP government in the state comes after its proposal to amend "distorted" history textbooks to show that it was Rajput warrior Maharana Pratap who defeated the army of Mughal emperor Akbar in the Battle of Haldighati in 1576, and not the other way round.
